Magic Millions
The Magic Millions thoroughbred horse sales and racing carnival is the jewel in the crown of the Queensland horse racing scene. Held annually in January at the Gold Coast Turf Club, this is a must attend event.

Big Day Out
The Big Day Out is the biggest annual touring music festival in the southern hemisphere, and it makes its first Australian stop over on the Gold Coast. The world’s best alternative, rock and dance music acts join together to play at the musical highlight of the year. Held at the Parklands Showgrounds, a short drive from downtown Southport.

Good Vibrations
Good Vibrations is one of several other major music festivals that visits the Gold Coast. Also check out Summer Field Dayze and the V Festival.

Surfing Titles- Roxy Pro & Quicksilver Pro
The world’s best professional surfers converge on the Gold Coast in February and March for the Roxy and Quiksilver Pros. Based on the southern Gold Coast around Snapper Rocks, Duranbah and Kirra, fans get free access to the fantastic surfing action.

ANZ Ladies Masters
The world’s best female golfers take on the challenging links style layout of the Royal Pine Resort as they chase glory in the ANZ Ladies Masters.

Blues on Broadbeach
The best blues and jazz artists from around Australia and the world arrive in Broadbeach in May to be a part of the Blues on Broadbeach festival. Held at many venues around the area, the Blues Festival is usually washed down by much red wine!

Wintersun
June is ‘50s and ‘60s rocker revival time at Coolangatta, with the southern end of the Gold Coast overtaken by a fleet of classic hot rods from all around Australia.

Gold Coast Marathon
Famous the world over, the Gold Coast Marathon draws tens of thousands of competitors, who take on one of the fastest and flattest courses anywhere in the world. Races are held over the 42km marathon distance, as well as half marathon, 10km, and shorter distances for junior age groups. World Rally Championship
The World Rally Championship makes a bi-annual stop just south of the border, with the Repco Rally Australia. Based in the northern New South Wales town of Kingscliffe, the tough four day long event takes in the streets of Murwillumbah as well as the forests around Kyogle.

SuperGP
Formerly the Indy Carnival, the SuperGP is held annually on the streets of Surfers Paradise in October. Featuring Australia’s favourite- the V8 Supercars as well as international visitors the A1GP, the SuperGP is a week long party of speed and sun!

Schoolies
School leavers from around Australia meet up in Surfers Paradise for two weeks of celebrating the end of the school year, with a massive beach party.

Pan Pacific Masters Games
Held bi-annually on the Gold Coast, the Pan Pacific Masters Games sees 10,000 participants take part in over 30 sports, most with a minimum age requirement of 30 years of age.

New Years Eve Celebrations The Gold Coast is an ideal place to bring in the new year, with perfect weather, beach parties and fireworks all up and down the coast.
